Schools In Anambra to Resume Monday, September 7th The Anambra State Government has announced Monday September seventh for the resumption of schools in the state. In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic Education Nwabuezue Nwankwo says Junior secondary school students will resume on Monday, September 7, while the third term 2019/2020 academic session for primary and senior secondary school students will begin on the fourteen September 2020. The statement also states that the school boarders are to return the weekend before the resumption date. It further added that parents are to provide an alcohol based hand sanitizers and face mask for their children. JAMB Announces Date For Commencement of 2020 Admission Exercise The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has sent the guidelines institutions are to follow for the conduct of the 2020/2021 admission process. The JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede warned the heads of institutions against flouting the guidelines and decisions established at the 2020 Policy meeting that was held on June 16th, 2020. WHO Urges Safety As African Airlines Begin Operation The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for caution as African airlines begin operations in various countries. The WHO said strict measures should be observed to prevent surges in Coronavirus infections. The organisation urged governments to ensure airlines take the information of passengers travelling and follow up with them to prevent outbreaks. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reopened the online portal for the checking of the 2020 UTME results. The results which had earlier been made available only through SMS to 55019 have now been made available on JAMB's website. COVID-19: FG To Arraign Owners Of Supermarkets, Pharmacies Over Price Hike A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed June 25 for the arraignment of owners of two supermarkets and two pharmacies charged for hiking prices of key hygiene products such as hand sanitizers and face masks. The companies were dragged to court by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council (FCCPC) for allegedly taking undue advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to inflate prices of key hygiene products contrary to Section 108(1) of FCCP Act 2018. However, when the matter was called, the prosecution counsel, Babatunde Irukere, told the court that the matter was for arraignment and that they were ready for the matter as scheduled. Margaret Adenuga went through three previous IVF procedures before finally having twins.
