All University, Secondary And Polytechnic Students Should Take Note Of This

In the month of March 2020, Schools were closed nationwide and students ordered to return home by the Federal Government due to the rising cases of Covid-19.

6 months down the line, Nigerian students have been clamoring for the reopening of schools especially those in graduating classes in tertiary institutions.

The main argument for reopening of school has been based on the fact that most sectors in Nigeria have since been reopened and schools shouldn’t be left out.

This line of argument has led to some state governments announcing dates for schools to reopen in their respective states.

Finally, the announcement Nigerian students have been waiting for has come as the federal government has okayed the safe reopening of schools nationwide.

Therefore, all secondary, polytechnic, and university students should take note of the following information:

1. The federal government has okayed the reopening of schools nationwide.

2. No uniformed date has been announced as the resumption date of schools by the federal government.

3. Students are to refer to their states for further information on the official date for resumption of states in their various states.

4. Federal institutions students are to wait for further information from FG as regards to reopening of federal schools across Nigeria.

5. Part of the guideline for reopening of schools is the adherence of Covid-19 safety measures and the provision of safety kits. Therefore, students are to note they should resume with face mask, hand sanitizers, and maintain social distancing as much as possible.

6. Tertiary institution aspirants should refer to their institutions of choice for further information concerning Post UTME and sale of form.

7. All daycares and educational institutions are to remain closed to in-classes until this level of risk is assessed.

In conclusion, students are to note that Covid-19 is still real and Nigeria is not yet out of the wood, thus we should adhere to the laid down safety measures and always protect ourselves at all times.
