There are things that sends prospects out of your line as a business firm. When you fail to correct the lapses, you tend to loose your prospects and they thereby can't be turned into long lasting customers. 

Let's consider a few of them...

1. Always be ready to attend to customers wherever you are and whenever they call on you.  Don't delay or give any sort of excuse at the point of their request. Fast and quick responses retains your customers. 

2. Give your customers what they request for,  never you give them something similar to the original order they made. If there be any need to change the order, do well to contact them to get their feedbacks before changing the order. 

3. Be very quick to apologize to your customers whenever there is a disappointment from your side. Or whenever you couldn't deliver at the appropriate time as expected.

4. Again, don't always refer your customers to another place to be offered goods and services you can offer too. It shows your incompetence to serve a customer.
If you don't have it at the moment, go get it for them.  

When a customer is satisfied, expect other customers. But a dissatisfied customer sends hundreds of customers out of your line.
